The company is looking for a mid-level QA Engineer to ensure the quality, security, and reliability of its private banking e-banking platforms in Geneva, Switzerland. The role focuses on manual and automated testing across web and mobile channels while maintaining strict regulatory compliance.
This position plays a critical part in safeguarding the integrity of the organization's private banking digital services. The specialist will oversee comprehensive testing strategies to guarantee that web and mobile platforms operate securely and reliably, while strictly adhering to financial regulations and data privacy standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and apply risk-focused testing plans that align with project schedules and regulatory limits.
- Create and update test plans that address functional, integration, system, performance, and regression testing needs.
- Run test cases and end-to-end scenarios for web and mobile banking user journeys.
- Execute and maintain existing automation suites to ensure consistent testing coverage.
- Review system logs and test outputs to identify and triage failures effectively.
- Verify backend system behavior through SQL queries, API checks, and log analysis.
- Maintain QA standards, test traceability, and thorough documentation throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Utilize JIRA and Xray to manage test cases, track defects, ensure traceability, and generate coverage reports.
- Prepare and present QA dashboards and key performance indicators to the QA Lead, Release Management, and Project Management teams.
- Log, prioritize, and monitor defects, facilitating triage sessions with Development, DevOps, and Business stakeholders.
- Ensure clear entry and exit criteria for each release and contribute to go/no-go decisions.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to define User Acceptance Testing (UAT) strategies, document acceptance criteria, and establish success metrics.
- Support UAT execution, defect triage, and sign-off readiness.
- Lead initiatives to improve test design, data management, and automation reliability.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in both manual and automated testing within Agile environments, covering web and mobile applications.
- Proficiency in test management tools, specifically JIRA and Xray.
- Basic knowledge of version control systems, such as Git, for fetching branches and running tagged test suites.
- Strong SQL skills for data validation, reconciliation, and backend testing.
- Experience validating REST APIs using tools like Postman or Swagger, along with the ability to review application logs.
- Demonstrated experience with defect tracking in JIRA and test design/execution in Xray.
- At least five years of experience in the banking sector, preferably within Private Banking or Wealth Management.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Fluency in both French and English is mandatory.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with automated testing tools or frameworks such as Selenium or Playwright.
- Experience with automation tools like Selenium and familiarity with programming languages such as Java or Python to read test code and interpret failures.
- Experience with mobile testing tools like Appium and cross-browser/device testing.
- Experience in defining UAT strategies, test data management, and environment orchestration.
- Knowledge of the German language is a plus.
