Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

Crypto Finance AG seeks a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer in Zürich to ensure the reliability of custom order management and risk platforms through advanced automation and testing strategies.

This position sits within a compact team, providing broad exposure to various quality engineering challenges. The primary objective is to guarantee the stability and performance of proprietary order management, infrastructure, and risk management systems.

Responsibilities

• Create, refine, and sustain automated testing frameworks and suites while establishing best practices for quality engineering.
• Enhance CI/CD pipelines, test coverage, and release workflows to boost overall software quality.
• Oversee release testing by conducting manual checks, analyzing performance data, reviewing logs, and reporting on potential risks.
• Facilitate product reviews, notify developers of defects, share test results, and track issue resolution.
• Verify that delivered products align with specifications and satisfy user needs.
• Balance manual and automated testing efforts pragmatically, adjusting based on risk levels and business priorities.

Requirements

• At least five years of software quality assurance experience with proficiency in both manual and automated testing.
• Five or more years of practical experience using Python to build and maintain test frameworks and utilities.
• Extensive background with UI automation tools like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Proven ability to architect scalable test automation frameworks from the ground up.
• Strong capability in testing REST APIs and microservices using Postman, Swagger, or OpenAPI.
• Deep understanding of CI/CD processes and how to integrate automated tests into delivery pipelines.
• Excellent debugging skills, including log analysis and root cause identification.
• Experience collaborating with Agile/Scrum teams, including developers and product managers.
• Familiarity with test management platforms such as TestRail or Zephyr.
• A technical degree or equivalent professional background.

Nice to have

• Experience with performance testing tools like Gatling or k6.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, cloud environments, and distributed systems.
• Background in trading, fintech, crypto, or financial applications.
• Familiarity with FIX Protocol, market connectivity, or trading systems.
• ISTQB certification or equivalent QA credentials.
