Destinusgroup in Payerne, CH, seeks a Production Manager to lead assembly technicians in integrating and testing mechanisms, safety devices, and pyrotechnic assemblies. The role requires hands-on handling of hazardous materials, strict safety compliance, and process documentation.
This role is responsible for organizing and scheduling production activities related to the integration and testing of mechanical and pyrotechnic assemblies. The manager will lead a small team, ensure safety and quality through disciplined processes, and handle hazardous materials in a controlled environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of two to three assembly technicians in daily production tasks
- Maintain and update the Shopfloor Management Board for production tracking
- Oversee daily operations and manage material stock levels to ensure continuity
- Prepare assembly kits and coordinate material flow across the production floor
- Perform hands-on assembly and integration of pyrotechnic assemblies
- Handle energetic and hazardous materials following safety protocols and permits
- Develop, update, and follow SOPs for assembly, integration, and testing to ensure safety and consistency
- Assist in troubleshooting and corrective actions with engineering and QA teams
- Support continuous improvement of assembly workflows while maintaining safety and quality compliance
Requirements
- Experience using ERP systems, preferably in an MSD environment
- Strong practical experience with mechanical and electrical systems
- Experience or willingness to work with energetic, pyrotechnic, or hazardous materials
- Background in quality control, functional testing, and documentation standards in production or engineering
- Ability to write and execute detailed SOPs in a safety-critical setting
- High attention to detail and a systematic, disciplined approach to assembly and testing
- Fluency in English is required
Nice to have
- Familiarity with safety regulations for energetic and hazardous materials
- German language skills are an advantage
