Google in Zürich offers a four-year apprenticeship in Interactive Media Design starting August 2027. The role combines classroom study with hands-on UX design work across various teams.

This position is a four-year vocational apprenticeship where the trainee joins User Experience Media Design teams. The program includes rotations across different specialties to provide a broad understanding of the various roles within the department, all under the mentorship of experienced vocational trainers.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with user researchers, product managers, data scientists, and engineers to identify product opportunities.
• Ensure products are inclusive and global by integrating diverse cultural, ethical, and perspective-based considerations.
• Produce digital assets such as wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and presentations to advance concepts toward implementation.
• Apply core usability principles through design and research methodologies.
• Master high-quality execution standards for interaction, interface, and experience design.

Requirements

• Completion of the highest level of secondary school education.
• Academic grades averaging 4.5 or higher.
• Successful completion of the Multicheck assessment for Media and Design.
• Fluency in both English and German.

• A strong interest in interactive media, digital communication tools, art, or design.
• Passion for emerging technologies, shown through personal projects and a desire to learn new skills.
• Proven ability to solve problems creatively and think abstractly.
• Intent to attend the Berufsmaturitätsschule (BM1) during the apprenticeship period.
