Lonza seeks an Associate Director for QA Logistics in Visp to lead quality oversight for site utilities, warehousing, and supply chain operations, ensuring GMP compliance and team development.
The QA Logistics group delivers essential quality assurance support for the Visp facility, covering utilities, storage, and material movement. In this role, you will steer the team strategically, guarantee adherence to GMP standards, manage priorities, and serve as the main contact for resolving quality risks.
Responsibilities
- Direct the QA Logistics team by managing workloads, providing mentorship, and handling escalations.
- Oversee quality assurance for logistics, cold chain, utilities, and infrastructure to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Act as the primary escalation point for quality, compliance, and operational issues within the assigned area.
- Manage deviations, CAPAs, change controls, investigations, and risk assessments to ensure timely and compliant execution.
- Implement and sustain global and site-specific quality standards and continuous improvement programs.
- Represent the function in cross-functional meetings, audits, inspections, and governance forums.
- Maintain inspection readiness through effective risk management and promotion of Right First Time principles.
- Cultivate a strong quality culture and support the professional growth of team members while building stakeholder partnerships.
Requirements
- Academic degree or equivalent experience in Pharma, Supply Chain, Quality, or a related field.
- Extensive QA background with hands-on experience in logistics, warehousing, supply chain, or cold chain operations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and foster accountability and collaboration within a team.
- Deep understanding of GMP regulations, quality systems, and risk-based decision-making processes.
- Strong stakeholder management skills to influence and build relationships across different functions.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, with confidence to represent Quality in complex discussions.
- Business fluent proficiency in English.
