Associate Director, Therapeutic Area Communications

Novartis Pharma Schweiz AG seeks an Associate Director for Therapeutic Area Communications in Basel. The role focuses on developing and executing strategic communications for global and US markets.

The company is looking for a professional to lead the creation and implementation of impactful communication strategies for its therapeutic areas across global and US markets. This position serves as a key partner to cross-functional teams, ensuring that communications drive maximum impact in support of brand and therapeutic area strategies.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement integrated communication plans grounded in market analysis, audience insights, and current communication trends.
• Collaborate with cross-functional development and commercial teams to pinpoint opportunities where communications can significantly advance brand and therapeutic area goals.
• Integrate expertise from media relations, digital marketing, internal communications, patient advocacy, and analytics to support key milestones.
• Lead narrative development and storytelling for brands and disease states, including optimizing for AI-enabled environments.
• Oversee risk management to protect the company and brand reputation.
• Generate ongoing reports to evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies against business objectives.
• Ensure all activities comply with legal, regulatory, and compliance standards while maintaining high execution quality.
• Manage communication budgets efficiently.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• At least seven years of communications experience, with substantial background in brand communications, including data and regulatory milestones.
• Experience managing agency partners and budgets.
• Skills in crisis and issues management.
