Associate R&D Specialist System Performance

Nestlé seeks an Associate R&D Specialist in Orbe to enhance in-home beverage systems. The role focuses on performance optimization, data-driven design, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure consistent user experience.

This position aims to strengthen the capability of Nestlé's in-home portioned systems to consistently deliver high-quality beverages and an excellent user experience. The specialist will work closely with Front End Innovation, Development, and Industrialization teams to drive technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent cup quality and superior user experience across all beverage systems by driving system performance.
• Develop a science-based understanding of how machines, products, and packaging interact to inform and optimize design choices.
• Utilize modeling, data analysis, and digital tools to accelerate learning and reduce reliance on physical testing alone.
• Provide clear physical explanations for system phenomena to support confident and informed technical decision-making.
• Support project delivery through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and commissioning assistance.
• Enhance cross-functional collaboration and conduct competitive benchmarking to foster innovation and ongoing improvement.

Requirements

• Demonstrated expertise in physics, fluid mechanics, and beverage system performance.
• Ability to apply a scientific mindset to analyze interactions between equipment, consumables, and packaging.
• Proficiency in using data analysis, modeling, and digital tools, specifically R or Python, to derive insights and guide decisions.
• Fluent communication skills in both French and English.
