CERN seeks a Senior Authorisation and Regulatory Processes Specialist for the FCC Project in Geneva. The role focuses on securing regulatory approvals in France and Switzerland, requiring strong expertise in permitting, land acquisition, and cross-border stakeholder management.
This position supports the Territorial Integration Pillar Coordinator within the FCC Project. The primary objective is to manage regulatory authorisations and permitting activities to ensure the project secures all necessary approvals in France and Switzerland on schedule. The specialist plays a key role in defining strategies and coordinating with authorities to maintain project momentum.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the regulatory authorisation strategy for the FCC project in France and Switzerland, working closely with relevant authorities.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams on regulatory issues and flag matters that require strategic decisions.
- Lead the development of land acquisition and property strategies in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Prepare regulatory documentation, including permits, exemptions, and safety approvals, ensuring consistent positions presented to authorities.
- Monitor the project master schedule for regulatory activities, identifying coordination needs and issues requiring management attention.
- Produce consolidated reports on regulatory progress and contribute to project monitoring tools, including risk indicators and dashboards.
Requirements
- Master's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Law, Urban Planning, Spatial Planning, or a related field.
- Extensive experience managing regulatory authorisation and permitting processes for major infrastructure projects in France and/or Switzerland, including land acquisition.
- Proven track record in managing complex projects with multiple institutional stakeholders in demanding environments.
- Experience designing and implementing regulatory compliance frameworks in collaboration with technical, legal, and institutional teams.
- Experience as a project owner or providing project definition and governance support, including risk assessment and stakeholder coordination.
- Fluent spoken and written French.
