CERN seeks an HR Legal Adviser in Geneva to provide expert counsel on international administrative law, staff regulations, and internal dispute resolution within a diverse, collaborative environment.
The company is looking for a specialist to support the development and application of its internal legal framework and HR policies. This role involves providing expert guidance on personnel matters, ensuring fair resolution of internal disputes, and contributing to the effective management of disciplinary proceedings.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to working groups tasked with reviewing internal legislation.
- Draft new internal regulations and propose necessary amendments.
- Advise HR Management and other stakeholders on the interpretation and application of Staff Rules and Regulations.
- Provide legal counsel regarding HR policy matters and procedural issues.
- Offer guidance on handling internal disputes and disciplinary cases.
- Represent the organization before internal dispute resolution and advisory boards.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to prepare opinions, memoranda, and official correspondence.
Requirements
- A Master's Degree in law, international public or administrative law, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven track record as a legal adviser within an intergovernmental organization, with specific expertise in international administrative law.
- Fluency in both spoken and written English and French, including the ability to draft publications, official communications, and deliver oral presentations in both languages.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Employment Law or Civil Service Law.
