Senior Automation Technician at Mondelez Schweiz GmbH in Bern, responsible for leading maintenance planning, process development, and team coaching in a continuous improvement environment.

This senior role requires deep technical expertise to drive planned maintenance, process stability, and continuous improvement. The position involves managing technical and operational teams while serving as the primary technology owner for assigned production lines.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with line leaders to achieve SQCDSM targets, ensuring process stability and alignment with safety, quality, cost, delivery, sustainability, and morale goals.
• Participate in daily management system meetings at both shift and line levels to monitor performance and address operational issues.
• Manage technology, process settings, centerline configurations, progressive maintenance systems, work processes, and key performance indicators for assigned lines.
• Oversee the repairs and maintenance budget for designated production lines.
• Create, maintain, and implement preventive and time-based maintenance plans and systems.
• Develop the technical and maintenance capabilities of shift technicians to enable independent equipment operation and upkeep.
• Work with the Asset and Reliability teams to improve systems and execute specialized maintenance tasks.
• Lead change management efforts, manage spare parts localization, conduct breakdown analysis, and reduce repairs and maintenance costs.
• Represent the department or production lines as the site technology owner in regional and global technology forums.
• Support the VSU team in new initiatives and assist in their execution.
• Assist line leaders with internal and external benchmarking activities and the reapplication of best practices.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for a specific component category and provide training on preventive maintenance topics to plant staff.

Requirements

• Advanced proficiency in maintaining dedicated equipment to basic conditions, including executing autonomous maintenance and progressive maintenance standards, and applying TPM Phase 3 & 4 problem-solving tools.
• Ability to lead a Line role, qualify and coach the next level of SWP owners, and drive common opportunity areas across the line using a PDCA approach.
• Capability to function as a Line Leader, developing and aligning goal and master plans for the line, deploying and managing individual development plans for team members, and coaching staff on performance management and career development.
