Cost Manager (Kalkulator) - English & German Speaking

PureGym Swiss seeks a Cost Manager in Zürich to oversee financial costs for property capital expenditures, requiring fluency in English and German and expertise in construction cost management.

This position holds full accountability for the preparation, management, and reporting of all financial costs related to property capital expenditures, covering both new gym developments and investments in existing facilities. The role collaborates closely with Swiss Property, Procurement, Finance, and senior group stakeholders to ensure cost effectiveness on key strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Create capital cost estimates, business cases, and investment appraisals to support project feasibility and CAPEX approvals, adhering to local BKP and NPK norms.
• Prepare, maintain, and manage detailed project cost plans, budgets, and forecasts throughout the entire project lifecycle.
• Oversee the end-to-end financial management of multiple property delivery projects, ensuring effective budget control and cost visibility.
• Monitor project expenditure, including the preparation of purchase orders and tracking invoices, to produce accurate cost reports and forecast final costs.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities, providing financial analysis to support informed project decision-making.
• Review and validate contractor and supplier pricing, variations, and final accounts to ensure commercial accuracy and value for money.
• Challenge supplier pricing and manage change control in collaboration with Procurement and Project Managers to achieve commercially robust outcomes.
• Develop and maintain cost benchmarking data, analyzing trends, cost drivers, and opportunities for standardization across the Swiss property portfolio.
• Provide market intelligence and benchmarking insights to support Procurement strategies, tendering, and future investment decisions.
• Drive continuous improvement in cost planning, reporting, commercial governance, and cost management processes to enhance project performance and consistency.

Requirements

• Fluency in both English and German is required.
• Expected to work in accordance with BKP and NPK standards.
• Proven experience in construction cost management or commercial management, with responsibility for the financial oversight of construction projects.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including cost planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, contract management, and change control.

Nice to have

• French language skills are beneficial.
• Experience in retail, commercial, hospitality, or multi-site developments is advantageous.
