Cyber Security Tester (IEC 62443-4-2 Compliance)

Secheron S.A. seeks a mid-level Cyber Security Tester in Satigny, CH, to support development of a railway substation protection relay platform, ensuring compliance with IEC 62443-4-2 and promoting IEC 62443-4-1 practices in agile workflows.

The Cyber Security Tester role supports development teams working on a protection relay platform for railway substations by ensuring security conformity with IEC 62443-4-2 and helping integrate IEC 62443-4-1 practices into engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead security testing efforts to ensure IEC 62443-4-2 compliance across the product.
• Create, set up, and maintain custom testing tools, scripts, and procedures for security validation.
• Generate clear, structured reports and documentation for internal reviews and certification processes.
• Engage directly in development sprints to provide security input during daily planning and decision-making.
• Support and guide engineering teams in implementing IEC 62443-4-1 security practices.
• Help establish a consistent, repeatable security testing process throughout the product lifecycle.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of experience in cybersecurity testing, or equivalent hands-on work with industrial or embedded systems.
• Ability to work independently, including setting up test environments and automating security checks.
• Familiarity with interpreting and applying security standards such as IEC 62443 or similar.
• Proficiency in scripting for automation, particularly Python or equivalent languages.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, especially within agile development teams.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, ideally with a focus on cybersecurity.
• Practical experience with industrial or embedded systems.
• Demonstrated experience applying security standards like IEC 62443.
• Proven track record in building custom testing environments and related automation scripts (Python or equivalent).
• Experience collaborating with software development teams.
• Professional-level English, with a willingness to become fluent in French.

Nice to have

• Experience with industrial communication protocols or railway-specific systems.
• Hands-on testing experience with RADIUS, PKI, TPM, or Secure boot technologies.
• Familiarity with embedded hardware testing configurations.
• Knowledge of Linux-based systems; experience with Yocto is advantageous.
