Data, Analytics, AI & Platforms (DAP) Manager

Novartis seeks a Data, Analytics, AI & Platforms Manager in Rotkreuz to lead local data engineering, analytics, and AI initiatives using Python, SQL, and Azure services.

This position serves as the technical core for the European region, acting as a hands-on practitioner who collaborates closely with Integrated Insights Managers. The role focuses on building robust data pipelines, developing machine learning models, and driving the adoption of AI solutions while ensuring strict compliance with Swiss data privacy regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop production-grade Python and SQL code for data manipulation, statistical modeling, machine learning, and automation tasks.
• Design and maintain local data models, transformation logic, and SQL pipelines within the Snowflake environment.
• Utilize Azure data and AI services for integrating data, training models, deploying solutions, and handling AI workloads.
• Ensure seamless and compliant data flow from local sources into the global Snowflake ecosystem, maintaining data quality, lineage, governance, and Swiss privacy standards.
• Co-lead the design, development, and maintenance of local performance dashboards and reports using PowerBI.
• Construct robust and scalable PowerBI semantic models hosted on Snowflake.
• Independently execute applied data science projects, including regression, classification, clustering, time-series forecasting, and uplift analyses.
• Promote the local adoption and impact of AI, GenAI, and agentic AI products in alignment with the International DAP strategy.
• Design and prototype applied AI, GenAI, and agentic use cases utilizing Swiss data.
• Coordinate the localization, configuration, and operational readiness of selected global marketing and customer-facing platforms.
• Ensure day-to-day platform availability, performance, and incident resolution.
• Champion responsible and ethical AI use locally.
• Translate analytical outputs into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Build reusable analytical code, templates, and automation workflows.

Requirements

• Hands-on data and analytics practitioner experience.
• Ability to write production-quality Python and SQL.
• Experience with statistical modelling, machine learning and automation.
• Knowledge of global data architecture standards.
• Understanding of Swiss data privacy compliance.
• Ability to ensure data quality, lineage, and governance.
