Data Center Project Manager

Microsoft seeks a Data Center Project Manager in Geneva to oversee IT infrastructure deployment, ensure safety compliance, and manage client relationships within its Cloud Operations group.

This position sits within Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) group, which is responsible for powering core cloud services. The role focuses on building a deep understanding of data center procedures, fostering collaboration across various teams, and providing mentorship to support operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the installation and removal of data center IT equipment and infrastructure to achieve key objectives.
• Strictly follow all established safety and security protocols.
• Assist in troubleshooting service incidents and escalate issues to meet service level agreements with minimal disruption.
• Identify potential customer impacts from events, communicate these risks, and plan accordingly.
• Review schedules proactively to prevent conflicts and suggest alternatives when defining customer solutions.
• Manage relationships with clients and suppliers to ensure expectations are clarified, understood, documented, and met.
• Suggest ways for reducing maintenance risk and work with others to accommodate scheduling needs.
• Hold self-accountable for end-to-end service quality, completeness, and customer experience.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent AND industry experience.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
• Pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Nice to have

• Experience in Critical Environment infrastructures (e.g., UPS, Generator, AHU) or physical IT infrastructures.
• Technical College degree in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Applicable certifications such as ASICS/Inventory Control, CompTIA, Microsoft, Network Certifications, PMP, ITIL, CDCP.
