Data Governance Consultant – From Strategy to Execution

Orange Business Digital Switzerland SA seeks a Mid-level Data Governance Consultant in Meyrin, CH, to design and implement data governance frameworks. The role combines strategy and execution, supporting organizations in managing data as a business asset through hybrid work.

This position sits at the crossroads of data strategy and practical implementation, collaborating with Chief Data Officers and business stakeholders to build governance frameworks. The candidate will join a multidisciplinary data team committed to helping clients treat data as a strategic business resource.

Responsibilities

• Create and roll out data governance frameworks, policies, and processes tailored to business objectives.
• Collaborate with business and IT teams to define data ownership, stewardship roles, and lifecycle management rules.
• Lead the setup and configuration of governance tools such as data catalogs (e.g., Collibra, Alation), MDM systems, or data quality platforms, ensuring integration into daily operations.
• Perform data profiling, quality assessments, and issue resolution with technical teams.
• Assist in evaluating and selecting data management platforms, contributing to implementation and change management efforts.
• Maintain regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, nFADP) through structured governance practices and documentation.
• Foster a data-driven culture by providing training, creating internal resources, and supporting adoption of governance standards.
• Monitor industry trends, tools, and regulatory changes in the data domain.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Practical experience in data governance or data management, preferably in consulting or large organizations.
• Experience with data governance tools such as Collibra, Informatica, Talend, or Ataccama.
• Knowledge of data privacy regulations including GDPR and nFADP.
• Strong analytical, communication, and facilitation abilities.
• Strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution capability.
• Fluency in both English and French.

Nice to have

• A recognized data governance or data management certification, such as CDMP or DGSP.
