DataOps Engineer Consultant

Orange Business Digital Switzerland SA seeks a Senior DataOps Engineer Consultant in Meyrin, CH, to industrialize data delivery using DevOps principles. The role involves automating data pipelines, ensuring operational stability, and collaborating with data teams in a hybrid work environment.

This role involves joining a dynamic team as a hands-on DataOps Engineer focused on data operations, automation, and collaboration. The goal is to industrialize data delivery by applying DevOps principles to data workflows, supporting clients and business impact through proactive, results-driven work.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain DataOps practices to enable continuous and reliable delivery of data products.
• Automate deployment, testing, and monitoring of data pipelines across development and production environments.
• Maintain operational stability of data workflows, including troubleshooting, incident resolution, and performance tuning.
• Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and monitoring to ensure consistent and trustworthy datasets.
• Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and platform teams to streamline end-to-end data processes.
• Establish observability standards including alerts, logs, lineage, and SLA tracking for data pipelines and platforms.
• Define and enforce best practices for version control, documentation, and lifecycle management of data assets.
• Support governance and security needs, including access controls and compliance guidelines.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts in automation, scalability, and operational excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in Data Engineering, DataOps, DevOps, or similar roles.
• Strong grasp of data pipeline concepts, orchestration, and operational support.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and workflows (Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.).
• Experience with deployment and orchestration tools such as Terraform or Airflow.
• Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages like Python or Shell for automation and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of data quality, monitoring, and governance principles.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, able to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
• Fluency in both French and English, both spoken and written.

Nice to have

• Experience with modern data platforms such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, DBT, Snowflake, or MS Fabric.
