Director, Business & Supply Continuity

Johnson & Johnson seeks a Director to define and execute Enterprise Risk Management and Business & Supply Continuity strategies for DePuy Synthes’ Global Supply Chain in Zuchwil, CH.

In this senior global position, the successful candidate will own the strategic definition and operational execution of enterprise risk management and business continuity plans. The role holds significant visibility, directly shaping how the organization anticipates risks, manages disruptions, and embeds resilience into end-to-end supply chain operations.

Responsibilities

• Direct the global continuity strategy for DePuy Synthes, ensuring alignment with broader supply chain and enterprise risk management goals.
• Create and implement standardized governance frameworks, playbooks, and continuity structures across manufacturing, logistics, supplier networks, and planning teams.
• Collaborate with regional and functional leaders to pinpoint critical vulnerabilities, perform impact analyses, and establish mitigation and recovery protocols.
• Manage crisis preparedness efforts, including scenario planning and response coordination, to maintain supply integrity during disruptions.
• Weave continuity and resilience objectives into larger supply chain transformation efforts, such as network design, digital upgrades, and operating model shifts.
• Define key performance indicators and reporting mechanisms to track readiness levels, resilience performance, and opportunities for continuous improvement for executive stakeholders.
• Align diverse cross-functional groups—including Quality, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, IT, and Commercial—on continuity priorities.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a global team or extended network dedicated to supporting resilience and continuity initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
• Approximately 10 to 12 years of progressive experience in supply chain, operations, strategy, risk management, or business continuity within complex global settings.
• Proven track record of director-level leadership, including experience influencing senior stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience conducting enterprise and operational risk assessments.
• Deep expertise in business continuity, supply resilience, risk assessment methodologies, and crisis management.
• Ability to combine strategic thinking with practical execution to translate strategy into actionable programs.
• Demonstrated capacity to influence cross-functional leaders and drive risk mitigation initiatives.
• Proficiency in English is required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
• Background in regulated industries such as medical devices or pharmaceuticals is advantageous.
• Global supply chain exposure spanning manufacturing, planning, procurement, and distribution.
• Experience leading transformation or enterprise-wide programs within matrixed organizations.
• Familiarity with enterprise risk management frameworks, regulatory expectations, and industry best practices for continuity.
• Data-driven approach with experience using analytics and digital tools for decision-making.
• Strong communication, change leadership, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• Additional languages are preferred.
