Fellowship Program - Hip and Knee Surgery - Ouchy Orthopedic Center

Full-time fellowship in hip and knee surgery at Ouchy Orthopedic Center, Lausanne. The program combines advanced clinical training, independent surgical practice under supervision, and research activities within Switzerland’s private healthcare sector.

The fellowship focuses on advanced orthopedic surgery training through dedicated one-to-one mentorship, participation in a high surgical volume setting, and full integration into a specialist network. Participants will acquire hands-on professional experience in Switzerland’s private healthcare environment while utilizing modern technical facilities.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the primary trainer during operations and performing procedures on personal patients under appropriate supervision, matching the trainee's current autonomy level.
• Managing patient consultations and overseeing the care of hospitalized individuals.
• Providing support to resident physicians within the department.
• Engaging in clinical and scientific research projects.
• Taking part in medical conferences and meetings, including acting as a facilitator when needed.
• Drafting and contributing to scientific publications and professional communications.

Requirements

• Possession of a Swiss FMH certification or an equivalent recognized foreign MEBEKO qualification in orthopedic surgery and traumatology of the locomotor system.
• For Swiss FMH certified individuals: valid authorization to practice and bill within the canton of Vaud, or eligibility to obtain it.
• Demonstrated proficiency in French at a certified level, alongside working knowledge of English.
• Swiss or EU/EFTA citizenship, or a valid Swiss residence permit.
• Proven advanced surgical capabilities and proficiency with standard IT tools.
• Strong administrative management skills and a demonstrated capacity to integrate into multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
• A clear sense of responsibility.
