Financial Controller

Robert Walters Switzerland is seeking a Financial Controller to partner with business leaders, driving strategic decisions through rigorous financial analysis, forecasting, and investment evaluation.

This position serves as a strategic advisor within the finance function, working closely with commercial and operational teams. The primary purpose is to support high-level business and investment choices by providing accurate financial insights, challenging underlying assumptions, and ensuring data integrity across management reports.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain budget plans, short-term forecasts, and long-range financial models.
• Evaluate operational and financial results to deliver actionable insights for leadership.
• Track capital expenditure and investment outcomes via consistent reporting and analysis.
• Audit financial records to spot discrepancies and guarantee the accuracy of management reporting.
• Build business cases and perform financial assessments to guide investment choices.
• Construct valuation models, project cash flows, and assess profitability for key initiatives.
• Design professional financial presentations and investment documentation for executive review.
• Act as a reliable partner to senior stakeholders, questioning premises and offering constructive financial guidance.
• Work hand-in-hand with Finance, Commercial, and Operational departments on strategic projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of five years of professional experience in financial controlling, FP&A, transaction services, corporate finance, valuation, or a comparable analytical role.
• Proven ability to build financial models, apply valuation methods, and conduct investment analysis.
• Deep knowledge of budgeting processes, forecasting techniques, and management reporting standards.
• A commercial perspective with the assertiveness to question assumptions and influence key stakeholders.
• Strong analytical capabilities paired with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Fluency in English is mandatory.
