Corporate Accountant - Asset Management

Robert Walters Switzerland is seeking a Corporate Accountant for an asset management client in Switzerland. The role focuses on general ledger maintenance, Swiss GAAP reporting, and financial compliance.

This position supports the finance function by overseeing daily accounting operations and ensuring regulatory compliance. The accountant is responsible for accurate transaction recording, statutory reporting under Swiss GAAP, and providing financial insights to support business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the general ledger and verify the precision of all financial entries.
• Draft monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports that comply with Swiss GAAP and relevant standards.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable processes, including bank reconciliations.
• Calculate and submit VAT returns while assisting with corporate tax submissions.
• Contribute to budgeting activities, cash flow monitoring, and financial forecasting.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
• Ensure adherence to statutory reporting obligations.
• Uphold internal accounting controls and identify opportunities for process optimization.
• Generate management reports and perform financial analysis to aid decision-making.
• Participate in special finance projects and handle additional tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
• Three to five years of professional accounting experience, ideally within asset management or financial services.
• Solid knowledge of Swiss accounting standards and VAT legislation.
• Proven ability to prepare statutory financial statements and collaborate with external auditors.
• Competence in using accounting software packages and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical capabilities with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet strict deadlines.
• Fluent proficiency in both English and German.
