Air Apps is seeking a Senior Financial Controller based in Zürich to manage financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting operations while supporting strategic decision-making through data-driven insights.
As a core member of the finance team, the Financial Controller will lead the company's accounting operations, internal controls, and financial reporting. This position combines high-level strategic planning with daily operational execution to ensure the delivery of precise and timely financial data that guides the organization's growth and decision-making processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting initiatives across various departments and product lines.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes and reporting.
- Manage internal control frameworks to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and tax requirements.
- Partner with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment to align financial reporting with broader business objectives.
- Monitor cash flow, implement cost control measures, and conduct ad-hoc financial risk assessments.
- Drive the automation of accounting systems and ERP tools, including Netsuite, Payhawk, and Ramp.
- Analyze financial performance metrics and report on variances to provide actionable insights.
- Support business planning and strategic projects by delivering relevant financial analysis.
- Continuously refine financial processes, systems, and controls to enhance scalability and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of professional experience in accounting, financial controlling, or financial management.
- Experience in a senior audit role, such as at a Big 4 firm, or a background in startups or scale-ups.
- A bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Management, or a closely related discipline.
- Comprehensive knowledge of accounting standards, financial statements, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency with financial tools and software like Excel, Netsuite, Payhawk, Ramp, Oracle, or SAGE.
- Strong analytical capabilities with a sharp attention to detail and a solution-focused approach.
- Excellent communication skills to convey financial insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Fluency in English at both written and verbal levels.
