Julius Bär seeks a Senior GPS Strategy & Business Development Project Leader in Zürich to drive global strategic growth, manage partnerships, and support strategic initiatives across the Group.
This position sits within the Global Products & Solutions (GPS) function, which is responsible for crafting client-centric investment strategies, creating innovative financial products, and delivering expert advisory services across major asset classes. The role focuses on steering the global strategic agenda for GPS and reports directly to the Head of GPS Strategy & Business Development for Switzerland & Europe.
Responsibilities
- Lead global strategic growth efforts that align with the Group's overarching priorities.
- Collaborate with GPS business owners to spot, assess, and advance new business opportunities, partnerships, and growth plans.
- Assist GPS teams with project and change management tasks.
- Partner with Group Strategy and Group Finance to ensure the full execution of strategic initiatives.
- Set team ambitions and objectives in consultation with the Head of GPS Strategy & Business Development (Switzerland & Europe).
- Transform complex data and qualitative insights into clear, concise, and visually engaging presentations.
- Help develop and deliver high-quality strategy papers, market analyses, and actionable recommendations for senior GPS stakeholders.
- Evaluate strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and inorganic business opportunities (e.g., M&As) from a GPS perspective.
- Oversee the front-to-back rollout of new business projects and key initiatives, ensuring clear objectives, ownership, and tracked outcomes within agile IT delivery governance.
- Monitor emerging technologies, innovations, disruptions, and market trends across global markets.
- Provide inputs and updates for GPS to various management committees.
- Ensure all activities meet legal, regulatory, and compliance standards.
Requirements
- Solid banking knowledge, particularly in GPS-related areas like lending, structured products, and ultra-client advisory.
- Approximately 5 years or more of experience in private banking.
- Relevant higher educational and professional background.
- Strong financial analytical skills.
- Excellent commercial judgement, business acumen, and a broad understanding of financial markets and products.
- Strategic thinking abilities, with the capacity to grasp the big picture while addressing specific topics.
- Ability to manage internal and external stakeholders from diverse backgrounds effectively and professionally.
- Open, approachable demeanor with a genuine interest in people.
- Drive for results and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong planning, organizing, and communication skills to convey a clear vision.
