Julius Bär seeks a Senior Portfolio Engineer and Financial Data Specialist in Zürich to manage financial data systems and provide quantitative support for high-net-worth client mandates.
This position sits within the CIO Office, a team dedicated to overseeing discretionary mandates and funds. The role focuses on maintaining asset allocations for multi-asset classes and delivering quantitative analysis to the Investment Committee. The specialist will assist portfolio and relationship managers by conducting optimizations and analyses for bespoke mandates tailored to ultra-high-net-worth clients.
Responsibilities
- Manage and automate the financial time series database and associated data feed processes.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert regarding financial data and indices.
- Deliver timely and high-quality quantitative support, including specific simulations, to the Investment Committee.
- Provide optimized strategic asset allocation and quantitative analyses for large bespoke mandates to support relationship managers handling UHNW portfolios.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, engineering, or finance.
- Minimum of five years of professional experience working with financial market data and databases.
- Proven hands-on expertise in downloading, cleaning, storing, maintaining, and distributing financial data time series and benchmark indices.
- Strong IT capabilities, including proficiency in programming and data analysis.
- Working knowledge of MATLAB or a comparable programming language, along with experience in database maintenance and development.
- Fluency in English, plus proficiency in either German or French, both spoken and written.
- Ability to confidently present findings to groups of portfolio managers and senior leadership.
- Solid communication and stakeholder management skills.
