The company seeks a Senior Accountant for Banking Operations and Credit in Zürich. The role focuses on financial accounting for lending and banking operations, acting as a subject-matter expert to manage daily tasks and improve processes.
This position sits within the Financial Accounting department, handling accounting duties for lending, banking operations, and cash desk activities. The specialist serves as a trusted expert for daily accounting tasks while leading efforts to enhance accounting processes and systems.
Responsibilities
- Advise on, develop, and monitor sub-ledgers across relevant business areas.
- Contribute to projects that optimize and automate accounting workflows, including defining booking logics and data flows.
- Assist in preparing and analyzing financial statements and reports according to IFRS and Swiss Banking GAAP (RVI).
- Offer expert support for internal and external audits, and reconcile finance systems with core banking platforms.
- Work closely with internal teams like Group Tax, Management Accounting, IT Operations, and Payroll.
- Take part in testing, implementing, and rolling out new features in SAP and core banking systems.
- Help maintain data quality and strengthen internal controls by analyzing, specifying, and optimizing existing processes.
- Train staff and create user documentation, primarily in English.
- Provide financial accounting support to global locations.
- Ensure strict compliance with internal control systems.
Requirements
- A completed degree in finance or business administration, plus additional accounting training (e.g., specialist certificate, Bachelor/Master in Accounting or Banking & Finance).
- Several years of professional experience in bank accounting, ideally in lending, banking operations, or corporate actions.
- Mandatory experience with T24 or similar core banking systems.
- Strong knowledge of banking products, especially lending.
- Proficient use of MS Office applications.
- Excellent written and spoken English skills.
Nice to have
- A solid grasp of IFRS and Swiss Banking GAAP (RVI) is beneficial.
- Project experience with SAP and hands-on SAP usage is a plus.
- Fluency in German is advantageous.
