The company seeks a Financial Accountant in Zürich to oversee accounting and reporting for domestic and international entities, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.
This position plays a central role in handling accounting tasks for both local and global operations, supporting the firm's dedication to high standards in wealth management.
Responsibilities
- Oversee accounting and financial reporting for Bank Julius Baer and its affiliated entities worldwide.
- Draft monthly financial statements, business reports, and VAT returns in line with local rules.
- Maintain adherence to internal control systems.
- Help implement internal and external accounting standards, including IFRS.
- Conduct analytical reviews of balance sheet and income statement items.
- Prepare group (IFRS) and local statutory reports.
- Work closely with Group Tax, Management Accounting, IT, and Payroll teams.
- Assist with corporate activities like entity setup, acquisitions, and liquidations.
- Lead process improvements and support SAP-related projects (R/3, S/4HANA).
- Offer technical accounting support and troubleshooting for international teams.
- Take part in system and process testing for accounting applications.
Requirements
- Swiss Certified Accountant qualification or a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably in banking or financial services.
- Solid understanding of IFRS.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken.
- Strong analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- A collaborative team player with a proactive approach.
Nice to have
- Experience with SAP R/3 or S/4HANA is considered a plus.
