Head of 'Socioeconomics' Research Group

Agroscope seeks a Head of the 'Socioeconomics' Research Group in Ettenhausen TG to lead strategic development in social sustainability and labor within the agri-food sector.

This leadership position sits within the 'Sustainability Assessment and Agricultural Management' Research Division. The primary objective is to establish a strong reputation and drive the strategic growth of the research group, focusing on social sustainability, labor issues, and the socioeconomic impacts of digitalization in agriculture.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the professional, human resource, and financial management of the research group.
• Continuously advance personal research capabilities and enhance the methodological portfolio of the team.
• Publish findings in international scientific journals and specialized agricultural press.
• Build and maintain national and international networks relevant to the group's research focus.
• Develop and publish scientific principles for the Federal Office for Agriculture.

Requirements

• PhD in Agroeconomics, Rural Sociology, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in qualitative and quantitative empirical social research methods.
• Strong scientific track record in the group's research area and experience securing third-party funding.
• Proven leadership and management skills.
• Fluency in two official Swiss languages and good English proficiency.
