Hybrid Infrastructure Engineer

Symfact AG seeks a Hybrid Infrastructure Engineer to support its Global Cloud Infrastructure Team, managing Windows Server VMs on VMware and Azure solutions within a hybrid work model.

This position sits within the Global Cloud Infrastructure Team, which underpins the company's commercial services. The engineer will manage a mixed environment of Microsoft Azure and on-premises data centers located in Sweden, focusing heavily on Windows Server virtualization and network setup.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Windows Server Virtual Machines hosted on VMware infrastructure.
• Help configure virtual networks and implement native Azure cloud solutions.
• Perform physical data center tasks, such as cabling and hardware component relocation.
• Participate in weekend on-call rotations and work outside standard office hours as needed.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues using advanced troubleshooting methods.

Requirements

• At least three years of professional experience in a relevant IT infrastructure role.
• Solid understanding of Windows Server architecture and Active Directory management.
• Proven hands-on experience with VMware and general virtualization technologies.
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, both independently and within a team setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and possession of relevant Microsoft certifications.
• Experience working with Dell Servers and Cisco Network devices.
• Proficiency in automating Windows systems using PowerShell or similar scripting tools.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including VPN setup, file transfer servers, Microsoft SQL, and PKI infrastructure.
• Prior experience with AWS cloud services.
