IT Security Engineer

LGT Capital Partners AG seeks a Mid-level IT Security Engineer in Pfäffikon to secure on-premises and cloud infrastructure using Microsoft Sentinel and Zero Trust principles.

This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and operating technical security solutions within the company's hybrid infrastructure. The engineer ensures that all systems align with strict security policies and regulatory standards while supporting the organization's on-premises and cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy security measures for both on-site and cloud-based systems.
• Embed security protocols into the selection, setup, and configuration of hardware, software, and cloud services.
• Define system security needs that meet internal policies, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Create technical fixes for vulnerabilities and automate repetitive security tasks.
• Manage the vulnerability lifecycle, including assessment, prioritization, and remediation coordination.
• Work with the external Security Operations Center to refine detection rules, runbooks, and incident workflows.
• Support incident response activities, including penetration testing, red-team exercises, and audits.
• Analyze logs from infrastructure, cloud, and security tools to spot anomalies and potential threats.
• Help review and update cybersecurity policies, architectures, and guidelines.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in virtual teams like the CSIRT or Security Team.
• Take ownership of security products, such as endpoint and identity protection solutions.
• Produce clear and concise technical documentation.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of modern security principles, Zero Trust models, threat detection, and current attack vectors.
• Proven experience with Microsoft technologies, including Active Directory, Group Policy, Entra ID/Azure AD, Conditional Access, and Identity Protection.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Cloud Security Solutions, such as Microsoft 365 Defender, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Office 365, Defender for Identity, Defender for Cloud Apps, and Microsoft Sentinel.
• Practical experience deploying, configuring, and administering Microsoft Sentinel in enterprise settings.
• Strong proficiency in Kusto Query Language (KQL) for threat hunting, log analysis, and building complex queries.
• Experience connecting data sources using native and third-party connectors, ASIM normalization schemas, and parser development.
• Knowledge of cost optimization strategies for logging and analytics.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to triage, prioritize, and remediate security findings using Microsoft tools.
• Experience with vulnerability scanning, risk assessment, exploitation techniques, and remediation processes.
• Strong automation and scripting skills, particularly in PowerShell and Python, to build scalable security controls.
• Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for complex environments.
• Ability to communicate effectively and build trust with stakeholders at all levels.
• Demonstrated judgment, urgency, and commitment to high ethical standards, compliance, and business integrity.
