Lead Engineer - Civil

Kanadeviainova in Zürich seeks a Mid-Senior Lead Engineer - Civil to lead civil engineering for Waste-to-X projects within EPC or consortium frameworks. The role involves managing civil design, coordinating with stakeholders, and supporting procurement and execution, with up to 10% travel required.

This position leads the civil engineering component for Waste-to-X projects, contributing to the transformation of waste into valuable outputs such as energy, heat, hydrogen, and fertilizer. The role operates within civil consortia or EPC civil packages, ensuring technical and project execution excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering activities for Waste-to-X projects within EPC or civil consortium frameworks.
• Coordinate civil design interfaces with partners, subcontractors, internal teams, clients, and authorities.
• Manage design tasks during procurement and execution for civil, structural, geotechnical, architectural, and infrastructure components.
• Facilitate seamless collaboration between civil engineering disciplines and project stakeholders throughout design and construction.
• Support creation of civil procurement packages, including technical and commercial contract specifications.
• Assist in contractor negotiations and address technical inquiries during procurement and project execution.
• Provide project progress updates to project management and operations, and support claim management.
• Travel up to 10% for project coordination and execution as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in EPC, construction, or large industrial projects as a Design Engineer.
• Demonstrated project management abilities.
• Strong understanding of international civil engineering design and construction codes and standards.
• Experience using structural design software and 3D BIM tools such as Autodesk Revit and Navisworks.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and negotiation abilities.
• Assertive and decisive personality with experience in remote and multicultural teams.
• Fluent in English.

• PM certifications are beneficial.
• Proficiency in French, German, or any additional language is advantageous.
