Logistics Manager

VAT Vakuumventile AG seeks a Logistics Manager in Haag, CH, to lead team leaders, optimize operations, and ensure compliance within an international, inclusive environment.

This position provides functional and disciplinary oversight for Team Leaders in the designated logistics zone. The manager acts as the primary liaison between the logistics department and internal partners such as Procurement, Supply Chain, Quality, and Production, ensuring alignment and smooth collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Direct workforce planning, including hiring, staffing, and resource distribution to meet budget goals.
• Define performance goals, deliver ongoing feedback, and carry out formal evaluations.
• Cultivate a high-performance environment via coaching, engagement strategies, and talent growth.
• Oversee daily logistics activities to guarantee efficient and timely execution.
• Track, analyze, and improve KPIs concerning productivity, quality, and service levels.
• Serve as the Process Steward for the assigned area, ensuring adherence to standards and driving continuous improvement.
• Lead or support projects aimed at operational excellence, process refinement, and organizational development.
• Create, maintain, and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and related documentation.
• Address and resolve quality, material, and delivery issues, implementing corrective measures as needed.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through effective management and supervision of physical counts.
• Ensure full compliance with regulatory mandates, internal standards, and audit requirements.
• Assist in strategic and operational planning to meet short- and long-term business targets.

Requirements

• A degree, apprenticeship, or professional qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain contexts.
• Solid understanding of warehouse management and ERP systems, with Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O being preferred.
• Advanced Excel capabilities and experience in KPI reporting and performance analysis.
• Proven ability to independently plan, manage, and execute projects.
• Professional-level proficiency in both German and English.

Nice to have

• Additional logistics certification, such as Logistics Specialist or equivalent, is highly desirable.
• Experience with logistics automation initiatives, including ASRS, conveyor systems, AGVs/AMRs, warehouse automation, or digital transformation projects.
