Lonza seeks a Material Management Analyst in Visp to optimize supply chain processes, manage inventory data in SAP, and support team performance through analysis and reporting.

This position plays a central part in analyzing current operational workflows and contributing to the restructuring of the Supply Chain Organization at the Visp site. The analyst ensures that team objectives are met and tasks are executed efficiently, directly supporting Lonza’s broader inventory and optimization strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with various departments to provide timely updates and analysis regarding materials.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of the material portfolio, ensuring effective management and control.
  • Assist the Material Management Head in coordinating the activities of the MRP team.
  • Develop and monitor material-related KPIs, taking corrective actions to drive improvements.
  • Manage raw material data within planning systems, including master data updates and lifecycle control.
  • Report on Purchase Order activities to external audit firms as required.
  • Offer specialized expertise in managing specific material categories.
  • Contribute to supply chain development projects and execute material-focused initiatives.
  • Act as a key user for SAP and AFI systems, providing technical support and expertise to other users.
  • Conduct material coverage analysis for the Visp location to inform future strategy and next steps.
  • Manage SMOG scrapping approval workflows, tracking inventory levels to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare monthly reports for MRPs to verify SMOG items for accurate submission.
  • Generate and submit monthly files for other departments to check SMOG liability to customers.
  • Support process optimization efforts using Value Stream Mapping techniques within Material Management.
  • Maintain and analyze safety stock levels to guarantee optimal inventory availability and replenishment policies.
  • Prepare and analyze various reports for the Head of Supply Chain to aid in decision-making.
  • Provide ad-hoc reports and analytical support to cross-functional teams.
  • Train and onboard new staff members on SAP system usage.

Requirements

  • A degree or equivalent professional experience in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related discipline.
  • At least five years of experience as a Material Requirement Planner or Analyst.
  • Proven background in SCM, materials planning/scheduling, and/or purchasing.
  • Strong proficiency in SAP, particularly the MM module.
  • Competent skills in MS Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Solid knowledge of PowerBI.
  • Excellent presentation and data analytical capabilities.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player across cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

  • CPIM or APICS certification is preferred.
  • Proficiency in German is desirable.
