The company seeks a Mid-level Mortgage Officer in Zürich to oversee mortgage underwriting and servicing for private banking clients, ensuring compliance and operational excellence.
This position serves as a second line of defense for domestic and international private banking clients, blending risk oversight with operational execution. The role involves close collaboration with Mortgage Advisors, Relationship Managers, and other internal stakeholders to support efficient transaction processing.
Responsibilities
- Review mortgage applications within designated approval limits, focusing on borrower creditworthiness, collateral value, and structural risks.
- Offer expert feedback and recommendations to Mortgage Advisors and Relationship Managers.
- Verify that all transactions comply with legal, regulatory, and internal standards.
- Manage the servicing and lifecycle administration of active mortgage facilities, including modifications and renewals.
- Enhance data quality across existing and new mortgage positions.
- Support process optimization and operational excellence by working closely with stakeholders.
- Maintain regular communication with Mortgage Advisors, the Real Estate Team, and Relationship Managers to facilitate smooth transaction execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3–5+ years of experience in mortgage lending, preferably within private banking or wealth management.
- Strong understanding of mortgage underwriting, product structures, and risk mitigation techniques.
- Familiarity with Swiss banking regulations and frameworks.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality results.
- Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills — proven ability to work effectively as a team player in cross-functional environments.
- Fluency in German or English, coupled with demonstrable proficiency in French or Italian, is strongly preferred.
