MSAT Cleaning Expert

Lonza seeks a Senior MSAT Cleaning Expert in Visp, Switzerland, to lead manufacturing cleaning strategies, CIP/COP optimization, and cross-functional technical initiatives within a GMP environment.

This position serves as the primary technical authority for manufacturing cleaning processes at the Lonza BioAtrium facility. The expert is responsible for driving performance improvements, optimizing Clean-in-Place (CIP) and Clean-out-of-Place (COP) systems, and fostering innovation in cleaning methodologies. The role demands close, on-site collaboration with various departments to ensure operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage and enhance manufacturing cleaning procedures and equipment cleaning strategies.
• Create compliant cleaning concepts by working with Quality Assurance and other stakeholders.
• Standardize and optimize cleaning processes across all manufacturing assets.
• Spearhead CIP and COP improvement projects to boost robustness and efficiency.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, QC, R&D, and QA on cleaning method development.
• Conduct cleaning-related risk assessments and oversee the implementation of corrective actions.
• Assist with process transfers, manufacturing campaigns, investigations, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Serve as the technical subject matter expert during customer audits and inspections.
• Introduce innovative cleaning technologies and industry best practices.
• Ensure all activities adhere to GMP standards and approved procedures.

Requirements

• BSc, MSc, or PhD in Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
• 5-10 years of experience in biopharmaceutical manufacturing and GMP operations.
• Minimum of 3 years of expertise in equipment cleaning processes, CIP/COP systems, and process improvement.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional technical initiatives and resolve complex manufacturing issues.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Fluent proficiency in English.
