This position involves utilizing specialized testing facilities with 3D printed stones to simulate environmental weathering processes affecting building materials. The role also focuses on developing rapid detection techniques for contour scales and investigating methods to prevent their formation or spread.
Responsibilities
- Utilize 3D printed stones within specialized testing facilities to simulate harsh environmental conditions that cause weathering in building stones under controlled laboratory settings.
- Create methods for the quick identification of contour scales at field sites.
- Investigate potential strategies to stop or reduce the development and creation of contour scales.
Requirements
- Hold a Master's degree in conservation science, material science, chemistry, chemical engineering, civil engineering, or conservation architecture.
- Demonstrate strong experimental capabilities.
- Communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal communication abilities.
- Show a strong desire to work collaboratively with other researchers.
Nice to have
- Possess a strong interest or prior experience in heritage conservation science.
- Have conversational proficiency in German.
