The company seeks a Mid-Senior Piping Engineer in Zürich for a permanent hybrid role. The position focuses on heavy industrial piping design, supplier management, and supporting construction and commissioning within the waste-to-energy sector.
This position plays a key part in the company's mission to transform waste into valuable resources like energy, heat, and hydrogen. The engineer will handle critical piping design tasks, ensuring projects meet technical standards while supporting construction and commissioning phases.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate supplier documents, conduct quality checks, and monitor document status.
- Assess project timelines and client agreements.
- Assist with construction and commissioning activities.
- Determine pipe materials and prepare weight estimates, including BoQ.
- Develop, update, and select pipe classes according to process needs.
- Help create, update, and enhance standard documentation like work instructions.
- Draft technical specs for pipe materials and supports.
- Offer support for detailed piping engineering tasks.
- Conduct piping strength calculations and define support details and criteria.
- Oversee suppliers during the project, including reviewing all submitted documentation.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of piping materials, codes (ASME/EN), prefabrication, cleaning, erection, quality assurance, and pressure testing.
- At least 7 years of experience in piping design for heavy industrial, power, or oil and gas facilities.
- Proficiency with 3D design and CAE tools (e.g., COMOS) and 3D viewers (e.g., Navisworks).
- Fluent English communication skills.

- German language proficiency.
