Kanadevia Inova seeks a Process Engineer in Zürich to lead process specifications for waste-to-energy plants, overseeing design through commissioning.
This position supports the transformation of waste into energy, heat, hydrogen, and fertilizer. The engineer guides the project team from the initial proposal phase through design, procurement, and final handover, ensuring technical alignment at every stage.
Responsibilities
- Define process specifications for flue gas treatment and balance of plant systems.
- Create equipment designs, P&IDs, engineering lists, and functional descriptions for control systems.
- Act as the primary contact for all process-related issues within the project team and with external parties.
- Participate in risk analyses, such as hazardous operation studies.
- Review process engineering during commissioning and trial operations.
- Ensure all work aligns with the basic concept, HZI policies, and guidelines.
- Verify that planning meets process engineering requirements and propose modifications when needed.
- Maintain standards for P&IDs, engineering lists, and copy templates.
- Follow HZI working methodologies, including Comos guidelines.
- Adhere to all relevant HSE requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical, chemical, or process engineering.
- Prior experience in a similar role with knowledge of process engineering and plant automation.
- Proficiency in CAE and engineering tools, such as Comos.
- Fluent English communication skills.
Nice to have
- Experience in flue gas treatment or Balance of Plant.
- Proficiency in German or other languages.
