The company seeks a mid-senior Tender Engineer for Waste-to-Energy projects in Zürich. The role involves process design, costing, and tendering for international EPC projects, contributing to sustainable waste-to-energy solutions.
This position focuses on developing process designs, sizing, and cost estimates for plant systems during the proposal phase of international Waste-to-Energy EPC projects. The role plays a key part in transforming waste into energy, heat, hydrogen, and fertilizer, supporting the company's mission to create value from discarded materials.
Responsibilities
- Prepare heat and mass balances, process flow diagrams, and performance guarantees alongside Chief Engineers.
- Optimize system integration to enhance cost competitiveness and coordinate with various technical disciplines.
- Review contract specifications, identify project risks and opportunities, and participate in technical clarification and negotiation meetings with customers and partners.
- Calculate the budget for engineering and procurement scope, support the preparation of requests for quotations for critical equipment, and analyze supplier offers.
- Compile offer documentation, including deviations, bill of quantities, and electrical consumption lists.
- Hand over successful tenders to the project execution team.
- Maintain tendering know-how, tools, and templates, and implement lessons learned from executed projects.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in an international EPC environment, preferably in energy, renewables, environmental technology, oil & gas, or a similar industry.
- A degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering (Bachelor/Master).
- Solid background in project execution or tendering, with knowledge in process engineering and a good understanding of technical cost drivers.
- Experience with Waste-to-Energy technologies, including Combustion & Boiler, Flue Gas Treatment, Water Steam Cycle, and Balance of Plant.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Autonomous, proactive, curious, flexible, and team-oriented personality.
- Fluent in English.
