Tender Engineer Layout (Waste-to-Energy)

The company seeks a Tender Engineer Layout for Waste-to-Energy projects in Zurich, focusing on conceptual plant layouts, 3D modeling, and tender coordination for international EPC projects.

This position is responsible for developing conceptual plant layouts during the proposal phase of international Waste-to-Energy EPC projects. The role plays a key part in transforming waste into energy, heat, hydrogen, and fertilizer, contributing to a sustainable future through technology and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D models and assist in developing overall plant concepts, including process integration, maintenance planning, traffic management, and building layouts.
• Optimize plant arrangements to enhance cost competitiveness and coordinate with various disciplines such as process engineering, electrical and control, civil, steel structure, construction, and logistics.
• Review contract specifications, identify project risks and opportunities, and participate in clarification and negotiation meetings with customers and partners.
• Lead layout reviews, issue planning drawings, and provide civil input data.
• Hand over successful tenders to the project execution team.
• Contribute to maintaining tendering know-how, tools, and guidelines, and implement lessons learned from executed projects.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in an international EPC environment within the energy, renewables, environmental technology, oil & gas, or similar industries.
• Solid project execution or tendering background with knowledge in process equipment layout, steel structure, civil design, and a good understanding of technical cost drivers.
• Deep understanding of 2D and 3D CAD modeling and awareness of BIM methodology.
• User know-how of design software such as Aveva E3D (preferred), Navisworks, Autocad, Revit.
• Fluent in English.

Nice to have

• Experience with WtE technologies is a plus (Combustion & Boiler, Flue Gas Treatment, Water Steam Cycle, Balance of Plant).
