Senior Layout Engineer

The company seeks a Senior Layout Engineer in Zürich to lead BoP layout development, optimization, and integration across disciplines for waste-to-X projects.

This position focuses on driving the design and integration of Balance of Plant (BoP) layouts for advanced waste-to-energy and resource recovery facilities. The role ensures that engineering solutions align with project goals, safety standards, and cross-functional requirements.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead the creation and refinement of BoP layout concepts and detailed engineering designs.
• Serve as the primary point of integration for BoP layout interfaces, coordinating with internal teams, external suppliers, and project partners.
• Establish and maintain BoP layout standards, fostering alignment, continuous improvement, and knowledge exchange across the organization.
• Develop and evaluate critical layout deliverables, including 3D models and inputs from suppliers.
• Verify that all designs satisfy safety protocols, regulatory compliance, maintainability, and constructability criteria.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering with proven experience in plant layout or industrial design.
• Minimum of five years in layout engineering, preferably within EPC, waste-to-X, power generation, or related sectors.
• Deep understanding of BoP systems, interface management, supplier coordination, and project execution.
• Proficiency in Aveva E3D and Navisworks for advanced layout engineering.
• Strong communication skills with a structured, proactive approach and effective stakeholder management.
• Fluent command of English.

Nice to have

• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM methodologies.
• Knowledge of additional languages beyond English.
