BRUSA HyPower AG is looking for a PCB Design Engineer (m/f/d) to develop power electronics for E-Mobility applications in Switzerland. The role involves PCB layout optimization, component selection, and cross-functional collaboration.
Within a team focused on innovative power electronics for E-Mobility, this position supports the design and refinement of electrical energy conversion systems. The engineer ensures products meet electrical, mechanical, and thermal standards while aligning with international customer needs for on-highway, off-highway, and stationary uses.
Responsibilities
- Optimize and design PCB layouts to meet electrical, mechanical, and thermal standards for both new and current products.
- Manage electronic component databases and libraries using tools like Altium Enterprise.
- Assess and choose electronic parts based on reliability, cost, availability, and performance.
- Lead DFM and DFT reviews alongside production and industrialization teams.
- Prepare manufacturing documentation, including Gerber files, BOMs, and assembly guides.
- Assist with prototype assembly, debugging, and validation testing.
- Work with PCB fabrication and assembly partners to solve technical issues and boost production efficiency.
- Establish and roll out PCB design guidelines, processes, and best practices throughout the organization.
Requirements
- Completed degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a similar technical field.
- Strong understanding of analog, digital, and mixed-signal electronics, plus PCB design principles, layout constraints, and stack-up considerations.
- Proficiency in Altium Designer and familiarity with PCB manufacturing, assembly processes, and IPC standards.
- Practical experience with laboratory measurement equipment and low-voltage testing for validation and troubleshooting.
- Experience with PLM and ERP systems, preferably Windchill and Infor.
- Fluent English communication skills.
