Tender and Quotation Specialist 80 – 100% (f/m/d)

ABB Power Grids seeks a Tender and Quotation Specialist in Zürich to lead bid preparation for high-voltage components. The role requires strong engineering or commercial background and proficiency in English.

This position operates within the local Insulation & Components product group at the MICAFIL bushing facility in Switzerland. The specialist works alongside an international team to convert customer challenges and requirements into competitive commercial offers and technical bids.

Responsibilities

• Review Request for Quotations (RFQs) and tender files to grasp client needs, work scope, and technical specs in coordination with sales staff.
• Partner with engineering, legal, sales, and other internal units to collect technical data, cost estimates, and details needed for bid submissions.
• Create complete tender packages, including technical proposals, drawings, commercial offers, and all necessary supporting documents.
• Guarantee that all proposals are precise, fully compliant, and delivered according to established deadlines and protocols.
• Keep organized records of tender activities, outcomes, and submissions to support quotation processing and order handover checklists.
• Refine tender workflows and documentation templates to boost overall efficiency and output quality.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to find optimal solutions and maintain clear communication channels with both customers and internal teams during the bidding phase.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a comparable technical or commercial qualification.
• At least three years of experience in tender management, quotation preparation, price calculation, bid coordination, or project management within an industrial setting.
• Demonstrated track record of preparing accurate bids and commercial quotations.
• Solid grasp of tender procedures, contractual conditions, and commercial dynamics.
• Fluent command of English.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Ability to communicate in German or additional languages.
• Prior exposure to tender management platforms or CRM systems.
