Coherent Switzerland AG seeks a Process Integration Engineer in Zürich to coordinate new product introductions and optimize semiconductor manufacturing flows.

This position serves as the bridge between research and mass production, ensuring that new technologies are successfully integrated into existing semiconductor lines. The engineer is responsible for developing robust process flows and providing the technical expertise needed to transfer innovations from the lab to the factory floor.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with R&D, engineering, manufacturing, and IT departments to bring new products and tools into production.
  • Create and update comprehensive process flows, run sheets, and recipes for manufacturing.
  • Evaluate current manufacturing capabilities and constraints to identify and implement improvements.
  • Define critical process parameters and run optimization experiments to enhance yield, throughput, and cycle times.
  • Analyze wafers and products at various stages to understand process interdependencies.
  • Establish new process flows and experimental setups to support R&D and product optimization efforts.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues affecting both R&D and production wafers.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Photonics, Microsystems Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • Three to five years of professional experience in semiconductor process engineering, process integration, or wafer fabrication.
  • Hands-on experience working in a cleanroom or semiconductor manufacturing environment.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with GaAs and InP material systems and associated semiconductor activities.
  • Background in mask design, simulations, or optics.
  • Proficiency in using databases and Python for process analysis or manufacturing applications.
  • German language skills.
