Senior Instrument Integration Engineer

The company seeks a Senior Instrument Integration Engineer in Rotkreuz to lead hardware and software integration across the full product lifecycle, ensuring technical alignment and driving innovation.

This role serves as the central technical authority for merging hardware and software elements throughout the entire instrument journey, from initial concept and development through validation and final market release.

Responsibilities

• Direct the integration of hardware and software components across the full product lifecycle.
• Serve as the main technical liaison to guarantee system functionality and project alignment.
• Independently manage the planning, execution, and documentation of development tasks.
• Apply advanced experimental design methods, such as DoE, to streamline planning and coordination.
• Spearhead interdisciplinary troubleshooting and root cause analysis efforts.
• Offer expert technical guidance to solve complex challenges with minimal supervision.
• Support the creation of product concepts, system requirements, and architecture designs in line with diagnostic standards.
• Conduct detailed statistical analysis of test outcomes to identify trends and correlations.
• Generate reports based on data insights to inform strategic decisions.
• Act as the primary Subject Matter Expert for integration activities.
• Mentor team members, encourage open communication, and represent the project in R&D meetings.
• Drive innovation initiatives, including intellectual property development and process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Swiss Federal Diploma in a scientific or technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least five years of hands-on experience in medical device development.
• Solid grasp of Systems Engineering principles applied to instrument development.
• Demonstrated expertise in data analysis, evaluation, and statistical methodologies.
• Fluent proficiency in English for both written and spoken communication.
• Strong autonomy, proactive problem-solving skills, leadership capabilities, and a collaborative mindset.

• Familiarity with Python, Jira, or Retina is beneficial but not mandatory.
