Senior Mechanical Engineer

ITech Consult AG seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Rotkreuz to lead mechanical development for next-generation Blood Gas & Electrolytes Analyzers within an agile, cross-functional team.

This position sits within a multidisciplinary engineering group dedicated to designing the upcoming generation of Blood Gas and Electrolytes (BG/E) Analyzers. Based in Rotkreuz, the role provides the opportunity to shape mechanical development from initial concept through to maintenance, with a specific emphasis on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and high-volume production. The company allows for some flexibility in tailoring daily responsibilities to align with individual strengths.

Responsibilities

• Manage deliverables within a matrix-style project structure while coordinating with external partners.
• Oversee the complete mechanical development lifecycle, ensuring a strong focus on Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
• Lead the architectural and detailed design of complex functional consumables intended for high-volume injection molding.
• Engage in sprint-based Agile workflows, including defining, estimating, planning, and executing work packages.
• Conduct rigorous engineering analyses, such as FEA, FMEA, tolerance analysis, and physics-based simulations.
• Offer technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
• Organize and participate in comprehensive technical reviews with various stakeholders.

Requirements

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering (FH, BSc, or MSc) accompanied by 6-8 years of relevant industry experience.
• Advanced expertise in injection molding design and plastic technologies.
• Proven track record of managing all phases of mechanical development with deep knowledge of DFM principles.
• Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary teams and managing external development partners and suppliers.
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks CAD, integrated with SAP, and adherence to ISO 8015 / GPS standards.
• Professional-level command of the English language.

Nice to have

• Experience in developing functional consumables for cost-optimized, large-scale series production.
• Background in creating complex medical systems within regulated environments, including integration of pumps, valves, sensors, and temperature control elements.
• Ability to listen and read German.
