Senior Instrument Integration Engineer

ITech Consult AG seeks a Senior Instrument Integration Engineer in Rotkreuz, CH, to lead hardware and software integration across the full instrument lifecycle.

The company is looking for a specialist to oversee the integration of hardware and software components, ensuring optimal instrument functionality. This position supports the entire development journey, from initial concept through validation and market launch, contributing to the creation of essential diagnostic and analysis tools for various industries.

Responsibilities

• Direct the integration of hardware and software elements throughout the complete instrument lifecycle.
• Serve as the main technical contact to ensure system functionality aligns with project objectives.
• Independently manage, execute, and document development tasks.
• Apply advanced planning methods, such as Design of Experiments, to coordinate and optimize testing.
• Lead cross-functional troubleshooting and identify root causes for technical issues.
• Provide expert guidance to resolve complex challenges with minimal supervision.
• Help define product concepts, system requirements, and architecture to meet diagnostic standards.
• Analyze test data using statistical techniques to identify trends and correlations.
• Generate reports from data analysis to support strategic decisions.
• Act as the primary subject matter expert for integration activities.
• Mentor team members, encourage open communication, and represent the project in R&D meetings.
• Support innovation initiatives, including intellectual property development and process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree, or equivalent Swiss Federal Diploma in a scientific or technical discipline, such as Biotechnology or Biomedical Engineering, or comparable professional experience.
• At least five years of experience in medical device development.
• Solid knowledge of Systems Engineering principles applied to instrument development.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze data and apply statistical methods.
• Fluent proficiency in English for both written and spoken communication.
• Strong autonomy, proactive problem-solving skills, leadership abilities, and a collaborative mindset for cross-functional teamwork.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with tools like Python, Jira, or Retina is beneficial but not mandatory.
