The company seeks a mid-level Product Engineer for semiconductor lasers in Zürich. The role acts as the technical product prime for the laser portfolio, overseeing performance, quality, and manufacturing processes.
This position functions as the primary technical authority for a specific family of semiconductor laser products. The successful candidate will manage the end-to-end product lifecycle, ensuring that fabrication processes align with product specifications while driving continuous improvements in manufacturing and testing.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the main technical expert for product quality, performance, and manufacturing standards.
- Manage all product documentation, specifications, and release procedures.
- Verify that fabrication methods meet product requirements.
- Enhance manufacturing workflows, testing protocols, and process controls.
- Plan and conduct qualification tests for new processes and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Collaborate with different teams to transition new products into mass production.
- Act as the primary technical contact for both internal and external clients.
Requirements
- Master's degree in physics, electrical, electronics, or opto-electronics engineering.
- Minimum three years of experience in product, yield, or testing engineering for lasers.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor laser device physics, manufacturing, and applications.
- Proficiency in statistical methods and tools for querying and analyzing large datasets.
- Data-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Customer-focused mindset with strong stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in both English and German, written and spoken.
