Process Engineer role in Basel, Switzerland, supporting early-phase pharmaceutical projects with GMP compliance. Mid-level, full-time, onsite position with a 12-month rolling contract and hourly rate of 90–120 CHF/hour.
This position supports project initiation in a global pharmaceutical environment based in Basel, contributing to CAPEX and manufacturing projects during early phases such as ideation, feasibility, and concept design.
Responsibilities
- Translate business needs into technical project scope documents
- Assist in ideation, feasibility, and concept design stages
- Create and review Block Flow Diagrams (BFDs) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
- Develop and check mass balances and equipment lists
- Support creation of User Requirement Specifications (URS)
- Coordinate with engineering partners, EPCMs, and cross-functional teams
- Review engineering outputs to ensure alignment with project scope, schedule, and quality
- Help ensure compliance with GMP, EHS, and sustainability goals
- Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Manage multiple priorities in fast-moving project settings
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years in pharmaceutical or biotech process engineering
- Solid knowledge of GMP / cGMP environments
- Experience in front-end engineering, concept design, or project initiation
- Track record working with EPCMs, engineering consultancies, or client project teams
- Strong coordination and stakeholder management abilities
- Excellent English communication skills (mandatory)

- More experienced candidates with 10+ years in the field are also welcome
