Press Operator

Pyrotek SA seeks an Entry-level Press Operator to process tinplate and wire-mesh materials. The role involves operating punch presses, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining production efficiency in an on-site manufacturing setting.

As a global leader in high-temperature materials, Pyrotek SA requires skilled personnel to transform raw tinplate and wire-mesh into finished goods. This position focuses on the precise processing of these materials, ensuring that production goals are met while adhering to strict quality and safety protocols within a dynamic industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Run punch presses and other machinery for slitting, cutting, and punching tinplate and wire-mesh.
• Analyze work orders, production instructions, and technical drawings to guarantee correct product specifications.
• Track hourly output to ensure established production targets are consistently met.
• Log material consumption, labor hours, and production metrics using computer-based tracking systems.
• Conduct in-process quality checks and measurements to verify compliance with tolerance requirements.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or process issues to supervisors immediately.
• Execute basic preventative maintenance routines and keep workstations clean and organized.
• Follow all safety, quality, and ISO-related procedures diligently.
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste, enhance efficiency, and lower operational costs.

Requirements

• Prior experience operating industrial machinery within a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to interpret work orders, blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Strong mathematical skills, including arithmetic, unit conversions, and material calculations.
• Proficient and safe use of both hand and power tools.
• Basic computer literacy for production tracking, reporting, and self-service applications.
• Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
• Flexibility to work outside standard schedules to meet department deadlines.
• Comfort working in environments with moving machinery and equipment.
• Physical capability for frequent standing, walking, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
• Ability to safely operate powered industrial equipment while following safety protocols.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for repetitive tasks.

Nice to have

• One year of experience in manufacturing, production, or machine operation.
• Background operating punch presses, slitters, cutters, or similar metal-processing tools.
• Previous work with metal products, wire mesh, or related materials.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices.
• Experience in ISO-certified manufacturing environments.
• Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
