Specialty Graphite Operator

Pyrotek SA is hiring an Entry-level Specialty Graphite Operator for a full-time, on-site role in Switzerland. The position involves operating machinery, handling materials, and supporting production tasks on a rotating 12-hour shift schedule.

This entry-level operator role supports daily manufacturing operations by handling raw materials, operating specialized equipment, and assisting senior staff to ensure smooth production workflows.

Responsibilities

• Move raw materials and finished products using hoists, slings, cranes, and forklifts.
• Operate various machinery including saws, hydraulic and pneumatic presses, crushing equipment, and cleaning tools.
• Perform routine tasks such as cleaning, cutting, boxing, and crating carbon/graphite media products.
• Complete inspection and inventory documentation using measuring tools like tape measures and micrometers.
• Label raw materials, work-in-progress items, and finished goods.
• Work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule (7am-7pm and 7pm-7am).
• Assist higher-level operators with manufacturing tasks, including mixing, material movement, and data recording.
• Maintain a clean work environment through manual sweeping, vacuuming, and using floor sweepers/scrubbers.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Ability to use calipers and read tape measures in both metric and standard units.
• Must obtain and maintain forklift certification.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, bend, reach, walk, and handle objects.
• Ability to lift up to 65 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds frequently.
• Effective communication skills in English (verbal and written) and basic computer literacy.
• Specific vision requirements including close, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
