Coherent Operator Pipeline

Coherent Switzerland AG seeks an Operator for its Zurich production site to support manufacturing teams in a cleanroom environment. The role involves operating equipment, ensuring quality, and contributing to continuous improvement.

The company is building a talent pool of Operators to assist production teams at its Zurich facility, a central hub for advanced photonics, materials technologies, and semiconductor lasers. The position focuses on manufacturing optoelectronic components and laser diodes for industrial, data transmission, life sciences, and high-precision applications.

Responsibilities

• Run and oversee process machinery within a cleanroom semiconductor manufacturing setting.
• Prepare production equipment by loading, unloading, and configuring it for use.
• Conduct process control, measurements, and inspections using microscopes and technical tools.
• Carry out precise manufacturing steps according to written work instructions.
• Document production activities in ERP systems.
• Assist with pre- and post-production tasks such as cleaning, material handling, and basic maintenance.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives alongside technicians and engineers.
• Maintain compliance with quality, safety, and cleanroom standards.

Requirements

• No specific formal degree required.
• Interest in technical, production, or manufacturing environments.
• Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• High level of concentration and quality awareness.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Structured, reliable, and precise working style.
• Willingness to work in a shift-based environment (early and late shifts).
• Fluent German required.

Nice to have

• Experience in manufacturing, cleanroom, microtechnology, or similar environments is an advantage.
• basic English is an advantage.
